Alan has been recognized as a leader in the financial counseling industry since the early 1970’s. His background includes extensive experience in investments, employee benefits, and estate planning, coupled with leadership roles in professional and civic organizations. He is the former Chair of the Certified Financial Planners (CFP) Board of Directors and Chair of the Board of Professional Review. In addition, he has served as the Program Director at The University of Dallas’s MBA in Personal Finance.
Alan is a teacher in every sense of the word, from the mentorship of his team members, to his adjunct professorship at The University of Dallas, and “Investing 101” sessions that he offers to children and grandchildren of his clients. Alan cares deeply about his clients and takes great care to help them problem solve and connect them with appropriate resources and information. He has been named Top Financial Advisor by both “Worth” magazine and “Medical Economics” and is a published author and former financial columnist for the Park Cities News.
As an avid theater goer, he has served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Summer Musicals and as Treasurer of the DSM Guild. He is an amateur photographer who finds daily comic relief through syndicated cartoons and strips. Alan lives in Dallas, Texas and is a devoted father, grandfather and husband of wife Terry for 51 years.
